Niswarth organises its first ‘Sports Meet’ for the differently abled children and adults .

Niswarth on Saturday organised it’s first ‘Sports Meet’ for the differently abled children at Bagrakot football grounds. Niswarth is a charity based at Bagrakote tea garden Dooars, started by Late Mrs Neelam Kumar and Mr Harsh Kumar as the co-founders of the organization. The organization was registered in 2007. After Mrs Neelam Kumar’s sudden demise in 2008, Mr Harsh Kumar has been taking the organisation forward with active support of Mrs Sanjana Sarkar( Secretary) and other members.
Since then, the organization has carried out with disability camps, blood donation camps, eye treatment camps followed by medical treatment, providing education,skill development program etc; for the disabled residing in the dooars region. Niswarth has opened an English medium school for Deaf & Mute children at Niswarth House Bagracote..
In the program today, the target participants were Deaf & Mute, Blind, Cerebral palsy, Autistic, Polio and physically/ mentally challenged persons.
A total of 123 persons along with 65 guardians from 12 Tea Gardens participated.
It was first of a kind sports meets for Tea Garden tribals/persons and keenly participated. Padmashree Awardee Karimul Haque was there as the Chief guest wheares Piyush Salunkhe SDO Shayantoni Palchoudhury, Jeevan Pandey DBITA Chairman, GGL VA Lalit Sinha, Joe Bajr,Ravi & Vidisha Mittal
Col Sudhir Singh,Rajkumar,M k mehta and Fayaz Hussain also graced the occasion.
